All God’s People with Connie Jeffery
December 1, 2017 Episode #028
This week we have two inspiring features to share with our friends and family in the Pacific Southwest.
First, Castle Medical Center, the Adventist hospital in Oahu, Hawaii, just received the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, becoming the first healthcare organization in Hawaii to receive this recognition.
Read about the award and the hospital who won it at the link below:
Adventist Health Castle is part of Adventist Health, which serves more than 75 communities on the West Coast and Hawaii. Their mission is “Living God’s love by inspiring health, wholeness and hope.” Our congratulations to this medical center!
Second, during this holiday season we’re bringing you a special Christmas hymn or carol from one of our institutions or churches here in the Pacific Union. This week, we’re sharing a music video produced by La Sierra University’s Department of Music, which they created to share the gift of God’s love this Christmas season. The video features eight La Sierra music students performing “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel,” which was arranged specifically for this project by six-time Emmy Award-winning composer Gary Kuo, who is an adjunct professor at La Sierra University. The students traveled to Mammoth Lakes, California to film in the beautiful scenery of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range.
The music video also portrays the story of Mary and Joseph. The actors who played the role of Jesus’s earthly parents are actually named Marian and Joseph. They were born and raised in Egypt before coming to La Sierra University to study accounting.
Look for the music video on YouTube and Facebook, and feel free to share it with anyone who loves music.
