Nevada-Utah Conference

The Nevada-Utah Conference was established in 1895 (Utah) and 1913 (Nevada) and reorganized in 1931. It has a church membership of more than 10,000, and contains 57 churches and 9 schools. The conference is proud of its Adventist Community Services centers and its Youth Rush programs for young people, both aimed at reaching church members as well as the wider community.

Leon Brown Sr.

Leon B. Brown, Sr,. has served as president of the Nevada-Utah Conference since June of 2016. He previously worked as director for urban ministry, men’s ministry, and African American ministries at the Northern California Conference, and has pastored several churches in Northern California. He has a Master of Divinity (M.Div) and a Master of Business Administration in Management, both from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan. He also has an earned Doctor of Ministry (D.Min) from the San Francisco Theological Seminary in San Anselmo, California. Brown is a native of Jamaica and is married to Julie F. Brown. They have two adult sons, Leon II and Lawrence. Brown believes that his single greatest earthly achievement is that Jesus Christ is the Lord of his life.
