Ministry at Holbrook Indian School (HIS)
Located in Holbrook, Arizona, Holbrook Indian School is a first- through twelfth-grade boarding academy. HIS also manages a first- through eighth-grade day school on the Navajo reservation in Chinle, Arizona. 80 percent of funding for the ministry of Holbrook comes from individuals who have a desire to make a positive change in Native American communities.
The Pacific Union territory is home to more than 1.2 million Native Americans. Much of the Navajo Nation lies within the Pacific Union. November is National Native American Heritage Month, and during this time, we celebrate the diverse and rich culture, history, and traditions of Native people.
National Native American Heritage Month is a perfect time for each of us to become more aware of the struggles Native people have faced in the past as well as the present. And that’s one of the reasons that a group of communication professionals from our Pacific Union conferences, schools, and health care system visited Holbrook Indian School and had the opportunity to fellowship and talk with the HIS staff, to meet the students, and to see this ministry firsthand! Our All God’s People production team was there to capture the experience.
Join us in praying for the students, the teachers, the staff—and all those families at Holbrook Indian School. Truly a mission school right here in our union.

“He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. The will walk and not faint.”
