In late January, the Nevada-Utah Conference (NUC) Education Department along with the NUC Office of the Secretariat took the opportunity to visit all the schools in their conference. The purpose of this visit, besides praying for and with their educators, was to deliver a hydroponic kit to each of the schools. Through a Versacare, Inc. grant, the NUC Education Department was awarded $12,500 to acquire and implement indoor vertical vegetable gardens for all of their schools.
Along with the hydroponic kits, a package of resources was developed in partnership with Loma Linda University to assist teachers with the implementation and application of these kits for educational purposes. With these kits, students will be able to grow leafy greens such as lettuce and spinach! Let’s eat salad!
