Where does my help come from? Years ago, our K-4th grade choir sang a song that continues to resonate with me. I don’t even remember the tune of the song but somewhere in the middle of it, we paused while a child recited a memory verse or a treasure verse as we refer to these memorized verses today. I can hear the child’s voice clear as day in my head.

I lift up my eyes to the mountains – where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
Psalm 121:1-2 NIV

These verses have popped into my head hundreds of times over the years. They are a “treasure” to me. I pray the verses your children are learning each week will stay with them and bring comfort, encouragement, and joy to them over the years.
