Elective Classes Engage
Students’ Imaginations
at PUC Elementary

At Pacific Union College Elementary in Angwin, California, 3rd- through 8th-grade students are spending part of their Fridays participating in fun activities and developing new skills! Students have their choice of electives, which include gymnastics, mountain biking, publication, leadership, robotics, and drama. In their leadership class, students learn how to lead the school in positive ways. The drama class encourages the actors to put their emotions into various characters, including puppets. Other classes have students writing articles, learning how to repair and ride bikes, building and coding Lego robots, and developing many more new skills.

The drama class at PUC elementary spends time on Fridays learning how to express themselves through puppets!

Maranatha Volunteers
Share Experiences at
50th Anniversary Celebration

More than 2,000 people attended Maranatha Volunteers International’s annual convention in Sacramento, California, earlier this year. The program celebrated Maranatha’s 50th anniversary and focused on God’s leading in the mission organization. One of the volunteers, 16-year-old Shanti Slater, from Forbestown, California, spoke of her experience in Kenya on the Ultimate Workout, Maranatha’s project for teenagers. Shanti says she found God on the mission trip and was baptized. “One of the main things I learned about God is that He wants to come into everyone’s life.”

Shanti Slater was one of many volunteers who shared about their experiences during the 50th anniversary weekend of Maranatha Volunteers International.
