Angels Among Us
“For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.” Psalm 91:11 is the first memory verse I learned in Sabbath School, or at least the first one I remember learning. I think I was in the Primary division. I thought a lot about my guardian angel when I was child. These days, I’m thinking of all the “angels among us” – pastors, teachers, healthcare workers, grocery store clerks who sanitize the carts and bag our groceries, farmers who grow our food, truck drivers who deliver essentials, neighbors who walk with us; co-workers who stay connected and keep us encouraged. I see angels at work everywhere around me. And I am grateful!

Orangewood Academy Teachers Surprise Seniors
Orangewood Academy high school teachers surprised their seniors on Friday, May 1st, with a parade to deliver yard signs and donuts and say hello. The academy is in Garden Grove, in North Orange County. To deliver signs, teachers went as west as Redondo Beach, north to Compton, and east to Riverside. Students and teachers were equally excited to see each other and celebrate their outstanding seniors!

Distance Learning a Success at San Gabriel Academy
At San Gabriel Academy (SGA), plans for an alternate education design were already underway when the conference closed its schools. March 24 was the first day of the new education model, and all students from TK to grade 12 showed up for classes at the normal times—from home. Teachers now use the Zoom app to meet with students in real time. Attendance has been almost perfect; even chorale, orchestra, and P.E. meet virtually! Virtual interaction paired with a strong, Christ-centered curriculum is the name of the game.
