“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.” –Matthew 5:6
Sharing the Bread of Life
There has been enormous interest in baking bread since we have been sheltering in place, so much so that ingredients like flour and yeast are in short supply. Social media is full of pictures and stories of successes and failures. Maybe the smell of freshly baked bread is a comfort or people want to take on a new challenge. Whatever the case, it is a new popular pastime.
When Jesus fed the 5,000, He broke bread and gave it to His disciples, who then passed it on to the multitude. The book Desire of Ages describes a similar process for us as we share the Bread of Life with others. We can only share Jesus if we know Jesus. The responsibility to share the Bread of Life with others is ours as well, not the professionals who “give them something to eat.” Like the five loaves and two fishes that fed 5,000, the more we share, the more we are filled and lack for nothing.

Preschool Teachers Receive Thanks from Community Care Consortium and First 5 California
Recently, the Community Care Consortium and First 5 California made a call to Laura Parker, director of the Children’s Discovery Center in Riverside, to learn whether the children’s center had remained open. Upon confirming that the center was indeed open, the Consortium informed Parker that—as a thank you for taking care of the little ones in the county—each preschool employee would be personally receiving a $200 check.

Pleasant Hill Adventist Academy Hosts Week of Prayer Online
In late April, Pleasant Hill Adventist Academy held its spring student week of prayer. High school students gave devotional talks for their own meetings as well as for the K-8th grade meetings. Elementary students took turns reading Scripture, praying, singing, and presenting the special music – all via Zoom.
“It was one of the best weeks of prayer I’ve ever seen,” said Principal Lisa Bissell Paulson. “To see our young people take on this challenge and be as articulate, convincing, powerful, and committed as they are, it is remarkable. I’m really proud of them.”
