Prayer Ministries at Chandler

The Chandler church prayer ministries team recently organized and hosted a three-part series—Praying In and Out of Season—with special guest speaker Pastor John Lomacang.
It began on Friday night, February 24, with a presentation called "Shaken" and continued the following day with a full house for worship. Attendees spilled out into the overflow room as well as into a secondary chapel, where the video was piped in. The Holy Spirit moved through the message, and the aisles filled with people coming forward in response to an appeal.

A delicious luncheon was served, followed by an uplifting concert by Pastor John, where he and his wife, Angela, shared their amazing life testimony, which includes so many miraculous answered prayers.

NCC Funds Relief for Earthquake Victims
NCC Funds Relief for Earthquake Victims

Serving the international community has always been an essential concern for members and churches of the Northern California Conference.

The massive earthquakes that struck southern Turkey and northwestern Syria on February 6 impacted a 310-mile-wide area populated by nearly 14 million people.

The Northern California Conference contributed $10,000 to the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) in response to the extreme humanitarian need. These funds helped distribute food, water, clothing, and essential supplies; sheltered displaced families; and implemented water and sanitation solutions.

University Church Serves Its Community
University Church Serves Its Community

University church, currently under Pastor Lawrence S. Dorsey, Sr., has a long history of community and church service for Jesus. The Bible tells us, “Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others” (Philippians 2:4, ESV). University church has demonstrated several examples of community service.

University’s evangelism team faithfully led the church in a monthly homeless outreach. The church members would bring socks, blankets, or gift cards throughout the month to be packaged up with a snack, toiletries, and Bible literature. Every fourth Sabbath, the members would distribute them to homeless in the community, usually about 100 packs per month.

Exercise Doesn’t Have to Be a Hassle

Being sedentary is a proven way to increase your risk for disease—in fact, the World Health Organization says a sedentary lifestyle is a leading cause of death and disability. Being sedentary for more than an hour can lower blood sugar levels, boost snack cravings, and reduce blood flow to your extremities, including your brain. But you don’t need to run a marathon or hike a mountain to be active. Instead, try these simple, achievable ways to make healthy activity a natural part of your everyday life.
