The Fluted Rock Native Camp Meeting, scheduled to take place at a picturesque rock formation near Chinle from August 23 to 25, had to pivot and move to the Window Rock church due to a forecast of storms, hail, and mud. Even though the camp meeting wasn’t what everyone had initially anticipated, the messages, testimonies, and fellowship time were a blessing.
Hermus Poor Thunder, from South Dakota, was the featured speaker. He shared his testimony of how God became the Lord of his life and how everyone can be warriors for God no matter where they are, on or off the reservation.
Gregory Holiday and his wife, Ella, were the choristers for the weekend, and the singing in the Navajo language was heavenly.
During the testimony portion of the weekend, an attendee shared how the Lord had spared a family member from an accident, a man gave his testimony about how he didn’t know his actual name until he started school at Holbrook Indian School, and a lady shared that she’d fought the urge to stay home for the weekend and had been uplifted by attending the event.
This event illustrates that God was able to provide, even when plans to be in Fluted Rock didn’t work out. The event planners are grateful to host Rose Gomez and Pastor Gabriel Silva for their faithfulness and dedication in putting this weekend together.

El campestre de Fluted Rock continúa a pesar de las tormentas
El campestre de Fluted Rock, programado para llevarse a cabo en una pintoresca formación rocosa cerca de Chinle del 23 al 25 de agosto, tuvo que hacer un cambio y trasladarse a la iglesia de Window Rock debido a un pronóstico de tormentas y granizo. A pesar de que el campestre no fue lo que todos habían anticipado inicialmente, los mensajes, los testimonios y el tiempo de comunión fueron una bendición.
Hermus Poor Thunder, de Dakota del Sur, fue el orador principal. Compartió su testimonio de cómo Dios se convirtió en el Señor de su vida y cómo todos pueden ser guerreros de Dios sin importar dónde estén, dentro o fuera de la reservación.
Gregory Holiday y su esposa, Ella, fueron los músicos durante el fin de semana y el canto en el idioma navajo fue celestial.
Durante la parte de testimonios el fin de semana, un asistente compartió cómo el Señor había salvado a un miembro de su familia de un accidente; un hombre dio su testimonio sobre cómo no sabía su nombre real hasta que comenzó la escuela en Holbrook Indian School; y una señora compartió que había luchado contra el impulso de quedarse en casa durante el fin de semana y se había sentido animada al asistir al evento.
Ese evento ilustra que Dios fue capaz de proveer, incluso cuando los planes de estar en Fluted Rock no funcionaron. Los organizadores del evento están agradecidos con la anfitriona Rose Gomez y el pastor Gabriel Silva por su fidelidad y dedicación en la organización de ese fin de semana.
