If you have been following Holbrook Indian School (HIS), you know that at least once a year a student makes a very significant spiritual decision. On Sabbath, February 11, fifteen students gave their hearts to God in baptism. The following Sabbath, six more students were baptized. Both of these occurrences followed another special baptism of one student in December 2022, bringing the total number of students baptized this school year to 22.
God is moving on the hearts of the students at HIS. These decisions are also a testament to the efforts being put forth by the faculty and staff. Human effort and divine power—all things are working together for good.
The decision by HIS senior Ariana to give her anger and pain to God came as she discovered the character of God in dorm worship and Bible class. Ariana said that after losing her little sisters in a tragic car accident, what brought her hope was hearing about the promise of the resurrection in Bible class. And she formed a beautiful image of Jesus after hearing His life and character portrayed in dorm worships. With all the emotions that linger after such a loss, Ariana experienced reservations even as she felt inspired.
“Last year I just felt tired of being angry and all of the emotions,” she said. “So I decided to try praying to God. I felt I was getting answers to my prayers, which made me feel comforted and OK in trusting my life to Him.”
The February baptismal decisions came during a weeklong evangelistic series with guest speaker and director of Youth and Children's Ministries at the Arizona Conference, Pastor Manny Cruz. The month before that, another guest speaker, Eddie Turner, had arrived to share in a week of prayer with the students and staff; he also connected deeply with many of the students. The personal influence of both Pastor Manny and Pastor Eddie planted seeds that soon bore fruit.
God continues to lead at Holbrook Indian School. Thank you for your continued support as we provide the whole-person education, love, and care that helps students learn to know the love of their Creator.

Todas las cosas ayudan a bien
Si has estado al tanto de Holbrook Indian School (HIS), sabes que al menos una vez al año un estudiante toma una decisión espiritual muy significativa. El sábado 11 de febrero, quince estudiantes entregaron sus corazones a Dios a través del bautismo. El sábado siguiente, seis estudiantes más fueron bautizados. Ambos sucesos siguieron a otro bautismo especial de un estudiante en diciembre de 2022, lo que elevó el número total de estudiantes bautizados este año escolar a 22.
Dios está tocando los corazones de los estudiantes de HIS. Esas decisiones también son un testimonio de los esfuerzos realizados por la facultad y el personal de HIS. El esfuerzo humano y el poder divino: todas las cosas están trabajando juntas para bien.
La decisión de Ariana, una estudiante de último grado, de darle su dolor a Dios se llevó a cabo cuando descubrió el carácter de Dios en el culto del dormitorio y en la clase bíblica. Ariana dijo que después de perder a sus hermanas pequeñas en un trágico accidente automovilístico, lo que le trajo esperanza fue escuchar sobre la promesa de la resurrección en la clase de Biblia. Ella tuvo una hermosa imagen de Jesús en su mente después de escuchar de su vida y carácter presentados en los cultos del dormitorio. «El año pasado me sentí cansada de estar triste y de tantas emociones encontradas. Decidí orar a Dios. Sentí que mis oraciones eran contestadas, lo que me hizo sentir reconfortada y bien al confiarle mi vida».
Las decisiones bautismales de febrero se produjeron durante una semana evangelística con el director de Ministerio de Jóvenes y Niños de la Arizona Conference, el pastor Manny Cruz. El mes anterior, otro orador invitado, Eddie Turner, había tenido una semana de oración que tocó profundamente a muchos estudiantes. La influencia personal tanto del pastor Manny como del pastor Eddie plantó semillas que pronto dieron fruto.
