After three years of suspending its Sacred Christmas Concert due to the pandemic, San Jose Hispanic church brought back this beautiful outreach ministry this past December, attracting non-believers, community members, and past members. Many who had left the church returned so their children could be part of the children’s choir or to join the adult choir.
This concert is an important ministry that not only attracts community members who have never visited the church but also souls who may have an Adventist foundation but have left the faith. The concert brings them back, triggering fond memories of their Adventist roots.
The Sacred Concert is held during the holiday season because San Jose Hispanic wants to take the focus off the commercial and secular aspects of Christmas. They want to thank and praise God who sent His Son. For nonbelievers, it’s a non-threatening event that introduces them to the Adventist faith. As a result, many visitors decide to come again.
Visitors are invited to join the adult choir and have their children sing in the children’s choir as well. The concert has many elements of worship, including a mission report, a Nativity play, a congregational tree offering, and, this year, a wonderful presentation by the president of the Central California Conference, Elder Dan Serns, and his wife, Lois.
This glorious concert attracts so many because its participants reflect the diversity and rich tapestry of our membership and community—from visitors to members, from little children to seniors, all thanking and praising God in various ways. It’s a glimpse of the praises we will be part of in God’s heavenly choir.

Concierto de la iglesia hispana de San José atrae a nuevos y viejos conversos
Después de tres años de suspender su concierto sagrado de Navidad debido a la pandemia, la iglesia hispana de San José trajo de vuelta ese hermoso ministerio el diciembre pasado, atrayendo a no creyentes, miembros de la comunidad y miembros anteriores. Muchos de los que habían dejado la iglesia regresaron para que sus hijos pudiesen formar parte del coro de niños o unirse al coro de adultos.
Ese concierto es un ministerio importante que no solo atrae a miembros de la comunidad que nunca han visitado la iglesia, sino también a almas que pueden tener una base adventista, pero han abandonado la fe. El concierto los trae de vuelta, proveyendo buenos recuerdos de sus raíces adventistas.
El concierto sagrado se lleva a cabo durante la temporada navideña porque la iglesia quiere quitar el enfoque de los aspectos comerciales y seculares de la Navidad. Quiere agradecer y alabar a Dios que envió a su Hijo. Para los no creyentes, es un evento placentero que los introduce a la fe adventista. Como resultado, muchos visitantes deciden volver.
Los visitantes están invitados a unirse al coro de adultos y que sus hijos canten en el coro de niños. El concierto tiene muchos elementos de adoración, incluyendo un informe misionero, una obra teatral de la Navidad, una ofrenda de árbol congregacional y, este año, una maravillosa presentación del presidente de la Central California Conference, el pastor Dan Serns, y su esposa, Lois.
Ese glorioso concierto atrae a muchos porque sus participantes reflejan la diversidad y el rico tapiz de nuestra membresía y comunidad, desde visitantes hasta miembros, desde niños pequeños hasta personas mayores, todos agradeciendo y alabando a Dios de varias maneras. Es un vistazo de las alabanzas de las que seremos parte en el coro celestial.
