Sang Ho Choi was ordained to the gospel ministry on Dec. 2, 2023, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Choi and his wife and ministry partner, Pyoungsook, and their three children—Jina, Sooa, and Nakhee—currently serve the Las Vegas Korean church.
It was a beautiful day of celebration as the local church congregation came in full support of their newly ordained pastor, presenting an array of flowers and a special meal after the service.
The ordination sermon was given by James Lim, Asian/Pacific ministries director for the Northern California Conference. The prayer of ordination was offered by NUC President Carlos A. Camacho, and the pastoral charge was given by NUC Executive Secretary/Ministerial Director Chanda M. Nunes-Henry.
Choi, who grew up in Korea, shared that, “In elementary school, I was treated as a ‘problematic’ child. However, I was moved by the love of the pastor and members who accepted and treated me without prejudice while attending church. I had never experienced such compassion; it was then that I felt God calling me to serve and to love His people regardless of who they are.”
Choi is passionate about evangelism and sharing the love of God with those whom he encounters. As a result, 21 precious souls have been added to the kingdom of God.
Choi began his pastoral ministry in 2000, serving in South Korea and throughout the United States, and has served the Nevada-Utah Conference since 2021. In his spare time, he enjoys playing soccer, playing the clarinet, and spending time with his family.

Sang Ho Choi fue ordenado al ministerio el 2 de diciembre de 2023 en Las Vegas, Nevada. Choi y su esposa y compañera en el ministerio, Pyoungsook, y sus tres hijos, Jina, Sooa y Nakhee, actualmente sirven en la iglesia coreana de Las Vegas.
Fue un hermoso día de celebración, ya que la congregación de la iglesia vino en pleno apoyo a su pastor recién ordenado, presentando una variedad de flores y una comida especial después del servicio.
El sermón de ordenación fue dado por James Lim, director de ministerios de Asia/Pacífico de la Northern California Conference. La oración de ordenación fue ofrecida por el presidente de NUC, Carlos A. Camacho, y el encargo pastoral fue dado por la secretaria ejecutiva y directora ministerial de NUC, Chanda M. Nunes-Henry.
Choi, quien creció en Corea, compartió que: «En la escuela primaria, me trataron como un niño “problemático”. Sin embargo, me conmovió el amor del pastor y de los miembros que me aceptaron y me trataron sin prejuicios mientras asistía a la iglesia. Nunca había experimentado tanta compasión; fue entonces cuando sentí que Dios me llamaba a servir y amar a su pueblo, independientemente de quiénes sean».
A Choi le apasiona el evangelismo y compartir el amor de Dios con aquellos con quienes se encuentra. Como resultado, 21 preciosas almas han sido añadidas al reino de Dios.
Choi comenzó su ministerio pastoral en el año 2000, sirviendo en Corea del Sur y en todo Estados Unidos, y ha servido en la Nevada-Utah Conference desde 2021. En su tiempo libre, le gusta jugar fútbol, tocar el clarinete y pasar tiempo con su familia.
